This class is for Opti Green graduates or sailors with equivalent experience. Sailors will further develop their sailing skills in a racing environment and be introduced to the tactics and strategy components of sailboat racing. The class is separate from the Opti Green class but meets with them much of the time.

• The class will compete in all NBYA Opti Regattas. Expect about 4, 1 day events and the 3-day Junior Race Week in the final week of the season. Sailors meet sailors from all of the programs on Narragansett Bay at regattas and begin forming friendships that can last a lifetime.
• Regattas may be on different days of the week than regular class days causing schedule shifts.
• Sailors not wishing to participate in a regatta can join other classes at WSA on regatta days.

• The course meets Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for 8 weeks.​

We have added a FLEX 7 of 8 weeks option at a lower price to allow families to skip the week of their choice for a family vacation.

We also have 4-week options to accommodate those with limited time availability. However, the 4-week options are only available if there are openings in the class and registration opens on February 15^th, two weeks after 8-week and FLEX. Choose weeks 1-4 or 5-8. Registration for the 4-week programs opens on February 15th.

The 8-week and FLEX programs remain the preferred options.
