Policies & Procedures
Parent Handbook: The WSA Parent Handbook is an important resource for parents. It is full of necessary information that should be reviewed prior to registration.
All Wickford Sailing Association registrants are welcome to apply for a scholarship. Full or partial scholarships are awarded based upon need, not merit.
Applicants are encouraged to register for their desired session to hold their spot and then submit their application immediately. Your spot will be held pending review by the scholarship committee.
If approved, you will be notified of the committee’s decision. If a partial scholarship is offered, you may accept or cancel your registration. If you accept the partial scholarship, the balance of the tuition will be due within 2-weeks of the notification or as specified on the acceptance notification.
Full payment is required at time of registration for all sessions except for the 8-week Opti and 8-week 420 classes. A 50% registration fee is due at the time of registration for 8-week and FLEX Opti and 420 sessions. The balance of the tuition is due no later than 6/1/25.
Payments can be made by check or PayPal. There is a 2% transaction fee added to Pay Pal payments. If payment by check is chosen, registrations will be active immediately, but payment must be received within 2 weeks of registration, or the spot(s) may be reopened.
Those applying for a scholarship are not required to send a deposit but must send a completed scholarship application within 2 weeks of registration or your spot will not be held.
There will be no classes on the 4th of July.
What gear does my sailor require?
What if there is inclement weather?
Unfortunately weather conditions do not always allow for on the water lessons. Safety is our number one priority. If inclement weather conditions are forecasted we may cancel the class by sending out an email the night before. However, shoreside classes will be held on most days when sailing is restricted. We typically sail on rainy days unless there is excessive wind.
